For VA Beach School Board Members :

There is now an option to sign the Virginia Beach School Board recall petitions ONLINE! If you have already signed a paper petition, your signature still counts, and we do not need you to sign again online. Anyone who is a registered voter in Virginia Beach may sign any/all of the six petitions. Signing the online petition is easy:
- Complete the form below and click on the "Sign the Recall Petitions" button.
- You will then receive an email with a link to sign all six petitions (be sure to check your spam folder if you do not receive it).
- This link will allow you to sign and read all of the petitions.
- Fill in the boxes. Your name in the signature box will serve as your legal signature.
- After you sign and submit, you will receive a confirmation email.
If you prefer paper petition, please contact us at: firstname.lastname@example.org
The number of signatures vary by School Board member but it ranges between 12,000 - 30,000. We already have a large number of hand-written signatures but believe that the online petitions will allow us to reach our goal more quickly than originally anticipated. Once the required number of signatures have been obtained, we will file the petitions with the appropriate court.
Encourage everyone you know who is a registered voter in Virginia Beach to go to our webpage, studentsfirstva.com, and click on our “Online Petition Tab”. You can also DONATE here to support our efforts. It has been costly to manage the recall and to set up the online petitions. We need financial support to successfully continue our efforts. We are an all-volunteer organization, so your contributions and support are greatly needed and appreciated.
These six School Board members are being recalled for neglect of duty, misuse of office, or incompetence in the performance of duties, particularly regarding their decisions to close schools (and keep them closed) to in-person learning from March 2020 through June 2021. Their decisions harmed children and caused a major educational setback for students. We won’t let that happen again! You can find more information in each of the recall petitions below the FAQs on this page.
